I'm Andre Walker
I’m Andre, a web developer with extensive experience in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting websites. This site offers insights into my professional background, career journey, as well as my personal interests and hobbies.
Biography
Hi, I’m Andre Walker. I was born in Heidelberg, Germany, to two military parents, which gave me the unique opportunity to live in several countries and experience a variety of cultures that have shaped who I am today. Despite having lived in different places, I proudly call Georgia home.
I graduated from Richmond Hill High School in the Savannah area and went on to study Information Technology at Augusta University. I have a smaller sized family—my sister lives in Los Angeles, California, while my parents have settled in Harker Heights, Texas. My experiences growing up have given me adaptability, cultural awareness, and a strong drive for personal and professional growth.
Work Experience
Augusta University
While at Augusta University, I had the opportunity to work as a front-end developer, creating a club directory for student organizations. The directory provided students with information about available clubs, including who to contact, what each club was about, and how to get involved. I built this project using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and it was here that I laid the foundation for my technical skills and hands-on experience in web development.
Automatic Data Processing, Inc
During my time at ADP, I worked as an Associate Application Developer, creating demos for marketing teams to showcase to prospective clients. These demos were built in a proprietary IDE and featured a front end using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a Node.js backend. Working on these projects—often hard-coded from scratch—allowed me to expand my technical skill set and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Southwest Airlines
At Southwest Airlines, I work as a Senior Web Content Management Developer, leading Go-To-Market content initiatives such as sales promotions and Rapid Rewards acquisition campaigns. This role involves daily content maintenance and launches that contribute to generating $8 billion in annual revenue. During my time here, I’ve expanded my technical expertise by working with multiple CMS platforms and further refining my front-end development skills.
My Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy video games, weightlifting, watching sports, and barbecuing. I’m a proud Longhorns fan, hopeful that Arch Manning will lead us to the promised land this year, and I also support the Atlanta Falcons, San Antonio Spurs, and Atlanta Braves. Recently, I’ve been exploring more of the country through travel, with my latest adventure taking me to Arizona.
